Weather forecasters are paying very close attention to the rising water level of the Mekong River, which increases the flood risk in northern provinces nearby.
The Mekong River in Nakhon Phanom has reached its highest level of the year at 12 meters, marking a critical warning point. This has already caused flooding in some areas, affecting agricultural land and homes.
In Pho Thrai district, specifically in Samrong and Laeng Ngam subdistricts, flooding affected the road and bridge leading to Ban Pha Chan for a distance of approximately 800 meters, with water levels reaching about 1.50 meters deep.
