Newham is London borough with most knife crime offences 2025
Newham saw 695 knife offenses including 440 robberies, with a 30.1% increase linked to gang activity and youth involvement, police and local agencies reported.
Met Police data shows Newham recorded 695 knife offences between January and October 2025, part of a 30.1% borough rise.
With 440 knife robberies recorded, robbery dominated the offences, and officials cited rising gang activity and increased drug-related violence as possible drivers.
Violent incidents cited include a Stratford stabbing and a knife-threat robbery at Manor Park; a triple stabbing on February 14 injured three men, and on August 30 three men robbed a man after showing a knife.
The Met Police data shows most victims were over 25, with 98 positive outcomes in investigations involving the 711 victims of knife crime in Newham.
Amid the rise, Laura Eden, NSCP Chair, helped introduce knife bins in 2024, saying 'There are devastating consequences of carrying a knife.' and aiming to reduce families left 'shattered by knife crime.
