On Wednesday, the plenary session of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) approved a proposal for the need to increase the judicial plant by 509 new judicial units, which are considered "impensible" to speed up the activity of courts and tribunals, also requesting that the plant be adapted to the existing litigation. Of the total, the needs it sets for Galicia are 21 places, four of which are considered priority.

The government assured on Wednesday that the vacancies for the positions of chief justice and Court of Appeal president will be filled in full accordance with the Federal Constitution, amid growing public concern over the matter.
