The items Brits lose the most include receipts and vouchers
Over half of British adults said they have reached a checkout without needed receipts and 83% struggle to find files on their devices, survey shows.
- A poll of 2,000 adults found 52 per cent of British consumers reached checkouts without needed receipts, and 83 per cent now struggle to find files on their tech devices, Samsung commissioned the research ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
- Errors in filing and remembering folder locations cause problems: 35 per cent of OnePoll respondents misfile items, 29 per cent say device search tools miss files, and 31 per cent struggle with memory and organisation gaps.
- On average, people have more than 3,000 documents, photos or videos, and one third of respondents spend between one and six hours a month searching for them.
- Missing receipts and files can prevent routine tasks, with 30 per cent of consumers affected by lost passwords, emails or photos, says Samsung UK & Ireland.
- Now you can ask for what you are looking for in a natural, human way as Samsung Galaxy Book6's natural‑language search helps users who forget file names or folders.
