GMP Says Edenfield Gang Sent 1,724 Drug Parcels Via Royal Mail

Police said the gang used fake return addresses and encrypted devices to disguise an industrial-scale operation worth more than £2.2 million.

  • Greater Manchester Police dismantled an industrial-scale drug distribution hub in Edenfield, Bury, where operators dispatched 1,724 parcels via Royal Mail between February and April 2025.
  • Iain Potter, Jack Wright, and Ross Fathi managed the operation, employing encrypted devices and fictitious return addresses to evade police detection.
  • Police discovered the enterprise after arresting Potter and Wright in Ramsbottom on April 24, 2025, with a suitcase containing 5kg of cannabis skunk.
  • Potter and Wright received 11 years and four months in prison, while Fathi was sentenced to six years for conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs.
  • GMP launched the 'Buy Now, Pay Later' campaign to warn against ordering cannabis online, noting such imports carry severe consequences for employment and travel.
