The heatwave currently roasting the Canaries is set to continue, as AEMET has once again extended its yellow heat alert for Lanzarote. The alert now runs from 11 am until 7 pm on Thursday 24th of September and from 11 am until 7 pm on Friday 25th of September.
The eastern islands are at the center of a suffocating weather episode. The State Meteorology Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow warning due to high temperatures in the province of Las Palmas, which has led the Government of the Canary Islands to decree the heat prealert in the eastern province before an escalation of the thermometers that will leave extreme maximums of up to 38 °C and an environment dominated by the calima.
