Heatwaves force Italian guides to halt Mont Blanc climbs
Italian mountain guides have suspended climbs of Mont Blanc via the main route on the Italian side because heatwaves are destabilising the glacier leading to Europe's highest peak, an official told AFP on Wednesday.
The heat wave that affects a large part of Europe also disrupts mountain activities. In Italy, guides have also decided to suspend the Mont Blanc climbs for safety reasons.
