From the first known traces of Lithuanians near Fort Erie to the "little Lithuanian" created on the outskirts of Hamilton, the heritage of this Canadian region spans more than two centuries. Hamilton and the Niagara Region are a meeting point for the early history of Lithuanian presence, the formation of a post-war community, and its surviving institutions, according to a press release from the State Cultural Heritage Commission.
