Police given 40 potential names for woman found at Liverpool park inside bin bag
Detectives have received more than 120 public reports and 40 possible names as forensic testing and CCTV checks continue, police said.
One week after a woman's body was found in a bin bag at Stanley Park in Anfield, Merseyside Police continue to seek her identity.
Described as approximately 5ft 2in tall with strawberry blonde hair, the woman wore a cerise pink Nike T-shirt; forensic testing established a DNA profile, but it yielded no match on the national database.
Detective Chief Inspector John Fitzgerald reported that the investigation has received over 120 reports from the public, including 40 suggested names, while officers review CCTV and missing person records.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting reference 26000706383, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Labour MP Kim Johnson, representing Liverpool Riverside, stated the community is deeply troubled, as residents expressed fear in the busy park where many walk dogs or cut through to local shops.
