I was eight years old in February 1996. Perhaps too young to remember every news story from the time but there is one that is certainly vivid in the memory. On Thursday night, 15th February 1996, the oil tanker, Sea Empress, got into trouble near Milford Haven port, hitting rocks underwater before releasing 72 thousand tonnes of oil into the sea over a period of seven days before being removed.
