The Future of Diablo Will Be Revealed Tomorrow
- On February 11, Blizzard Entertainment launched the Reign of the Warlock DLC for Diablo II: Resurrected across Battle.net, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, adding a new class to the nearly 26-year-old RPG.
- At the 30th anniversary showcase, Blizzard Entertainment said developers considered three or four candidate classes, narrowed to two, and chose the Warlock because the team was most excited about it.
- Designers noted Diablo I icons in the skill tree to make the Warlock class feel familiar, and Kohli said he initially assumed the offer was for Diablo IV in an interview with Variety.
- On April 28, 2026, Diablo IV will include the Warlock in the Lord of Hatred update, with Blizzard revealing more at the March 5, 2026 developer update, and Diablo Immortal's Andariel Rises update arrives this summer.
- The change represents a big swing for the remaster, with Blizzard saying it is eager for community feedback to judge if design goals were achieved.
