Mossad chief pressed Foreign Ministry to shelve plan to discredit Qatar early in Gaza war

The plan, which was implemented at the beginning of the war, was approved by then-Minister Eli Cohen. David Barnea warned against harming Qatar, in light of the talks on a hostage deal. The police and Shin Bet are now investigating the connections between Netanyahu's associates and elements linked to Qatar.
