Following the attack on Özgür Özel, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli published a get well soon message without mentioning the CHP or Özgür Özel by name.

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, in his message regarding the CHP leader Özgür Özel who was attacked, said, "The provocation in question that occurred on such a day is thought-provoking and chilling in every sense." Bahçeli did not use Özgür Özel's name in his message.

It was learned that in the first statement obtained from the suspect named S.T. who physically attacked Özgür Özel, he said that he asked for a meal card from CHP but was not given one, and said, "I was angry too. I was keeping the anger I had accumulated before inside."
