The First ‘God Of War’ Show Kratos Shot Is Here And Looks Very Off
- Amazon Prime Video released the first official still showing Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus while the series is filming with no release date yet.
- The adaptation is a Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios co-production with a two-season order, led by Ronald D. Moore around Kratos and Atreus spreading Faye's ashes.
- Many observers noted online commentators flagged the image's rendering, lighting, and framing as poor, comparing it to cosplay or AI imagery, with Hurst almost unrecognizable as Kratos.
- Despite casting praise, the God of War franchise's first image raised visual concerns and Amazon is urged to release better shots soon as the series will likely debut in 2027.
- Behind the scenes, casting Kratos has long been seen as difficult, with comments about Hurst's muscle compared to Dave Bautista five years ago, and Moore is attached as showrunner.
