The Leduc Naturalist: The return of the geese
Although March 9 was a day of late winter snow, it was wet and came at a time following two weeks of spring-like temperatures. Though rain would have been more welcome, it is moisture none the less. While walking home in the afternoon, I heard a sound that both startled and pleased me — the honking of a Canada goose. Through the snowy sky, I soon spotted two of the flyers passing to the south of me, a definite tiding of spring.
