District mayor to Karácsony: don't take back what's working
Péter Szentgyörgyvölgyi, the mayor of the 5th district, wrote an open letter to Dávid Vitézy, Minister of Transport and Investment, and to Gergely Karácsony, Lord Mayor of Budapest, after a proposal emerged that would return several important district public spaces to the management of the capital.
However, according to Gergely Karácsony and his family, all this is about restoring the legal order.
Fidesz Mayor Péter Szentgyörgyvölgyi is furious in an open letter to Mayor Karácsony and Minister Vitézy.
Vörösmarty, Podmaniczky and Széchenyi squares, as well as József Attila Street, may once again be under the management of the capital. However, according to the 5th district, the change is not only unnecessary, but could also jeopardize the uniform operation of public spaces – while the capital also has plenty to do with its own managed areas.
The mayor of District 5 is furious that the government would return four public spaces to the capital - he also sent a message to Gergely Karácsony and Dávid Vitézy.
According to him, the capital could not possibly use the revenues from this better and more fairly than the V. District municipality does.
