The European Parliament supported Brussels's proposal to suspend, in part, the association agreement between the European Union (EU) and Israel and to grant Community bilateral assistance to this country, although it did not have a consensus to refer itself to the Israeli round in the Gaza Strip as a genocide, despite the attempts of the progressive forces. The text was adopted by 305 votes in favour, 151 against 122 abstentions.
