EU Approves Reduced $3.7 Billion in Ukraine Facility Aid Amid Reform Delays
UKRAINE, AUG 8 – The EU's 3 billion euro aid will support Ukraine's budget, investment, and reforms as part of a 54.7 billion USD program for 2024-2027, officials said.
- On August 8, 2025, the Council of the European Union approved a 3 billion allocation to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program, which has a total budget of $54.7 billion for 2024–2027.
- Prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers under Svyrydenko’s coordination, the Ukraine Facility Plan was developed with the EU and consultations across civil society, parliament, and regional authorities.
- Along the Tisza river region, Ukraine and Romania are enhancing cooperation through strategic bridge fortification, joint reconstruction, and $1,500,000 t towards 10 Ukrainian AI-Controlled Turrets.
- Svyrydenko said the move signals trust in Ukraine’s reform trajectory and its ability to ensure stability within a united Europe.

EU approves reduced $3.7 billion in Ukraine Facility aid amid reform delays
The EU Council approved a regular tranche payment of 3.2 billion euros ($3.7 billion) under the Ukraine Facility mechanism on Aug. 8, a smaller amount than initially planned due to Kyiv's failure to complete key reforms.
Assistance is part of the Mechanism for Ukraine, which includes up to 50 billion euros between 2024 and 2027
