The Estonian national basketball team opened its winning record at the European Championship finals in Riga by defeating the Czech Republic 89:75 (23:19, 31:17, 23:18, 12:21).
The Estonian basketball team had to return to the court less than 24 hours after a painful loss to Latvia to face the Czech Republic in the third round, who, like us, had two losses in the standings. Our team put in a very strong performance and eventually won by 14 points, 89:75.
The Czech basketball players failed in their third game at the European Championship in Riga and after a 75:89 defeat to Estonia, they only have a theoretical hope of advancing to the round of 16 of the playoffs. Jan Zídek was the team's top scorer with 14 points. Kristian Kullamäe shone for the Estonians with 16 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.
