The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) condemned Azerbaijan on Thursday for the torture and mutilation of an Armenian soldier during fighting in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The court found a violation of Articles 2 and 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantee the right to life and prohibit torture and inhuman or degrading treatment.
