Estonia's 2.5 year recession ended in the last quarter of 2024 after the economy grew by 1.2 percent on-year, data from Statistics Estonia shows. Overall, Estonia's GDP contracted by 0.3 percent in 2024.
According to Robert Müürsepp, head of the national accounts team at Statistics Estonia, the economic recession that had lasted 10 quarters ended in the fourth quarter. "The last time GDP grew was in the first quarter of 2022," Müürsepp pointed out.
