Drones and Neptune Missiles Strike Kamensky Rocket Fuel Plant
The plant supplies solid rocket propellant for Russian weapons, and the strike damaged four workshops and set a warehouse ablaze, officials said.
- Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a chemical plant in Russia's Rostov region overnight into Saturday, Oct. 31, using attack drones and Neptune missile systems. The General Staff announced the operation damaged four production workshops and ignited a warehouse storing finished solid rocket propellant.
- As an essential supplier for the Russian defense industry, the Kamensky plant specializes in chemical synthesis of solid rocket propellant for 220mm Uragan, 300mm Smerch, and Tornado-S systems, alongside specialized propellants for tactical guided missiles and aircraft-delivered munitions.
- According to the General Staff, the operation was executed jointly by unmanned aerial units and missile forces utilizing "Neptune' coastal missile systems of the Naval Forces," targeting high-value military-industrial infrastructure in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky.
- Within 24 hours, Ukrainian drones also struck the 8.8-million-ton Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery producing aviation kerosene for the Russian Aerospace Forces. Strikes simultaneously hit the Bashneft-Novoil refinery and Bashneft-UNPZ facility in Ufa, approximately 1,400 kilometers east of Ukraine's borders.
- Defense analysts observe that targeting ammunition storage sites, fuel depots, and transport distribution centers degrades frontline tactical replenishment and complicates Russian logistics. Combined operations in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky form part of an escalating campaign to degrade Russian strike capacity and weapon assembly chains at the source.
