Former Serbian Construction Minister Goran Vesic will now have to stand trial for the collapse of a train station canopy in Novi Sad, which killed 16 people. An appeals court upheld the prosecution's appeal against a lower court's decision to dismiss the case. The trial against Vesic and five other defendants can now resume, the appeals court announced on Monday.

A court in Novi Sad has confirmed the indictment against former Serbian Minister of Construction Goran Vesić and five other people in connection with the collapse of a canopy at the Novi Sad railway station in November last year, Serbian media reported. No one has yet been held criminally responsible for the accident that claimed 16 lives.
