Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala will continue in 2027, the first since his death
The Recording Academy announced the Pre-Grammy Gala will return February 6, 2027, at the Beverly Hilton, marking the first edition following the death of industry icon Clive Davis, who passed away at age 94 on June 22.
Over five decades, Davis built the gala into a premier music industry event, fostering community while celebrating legendary artists such as Janis Joplin and Whitney Houston.
Grammys CEO Harvey Mason said honoring Davis remains a priority, adding, "That's exactly the spirit he brought to the Pre-Grammy Gala and I know he'd want nothing more than for the show to go on this year."
Last year's event featured performances from John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, and Jelly Roll, with the gala traditionally held on the Saturday before the Grammy Awards remaining one of the industry's most exclusive gatherings.
The upcoming memorial edition will honor the life and career of Davis, with further details regarding the February event to be announced closer to the date.
