On Monday, 18 May 2026, the Council for Payment, Clearing and Securities Settlement Systems met in Nouakchott, under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Mohamed Amin al-Goldi, Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania, which provided an opportunity to review the evolution of payment systems and means of payment, as well as the most significant reforms undertaken in the framework of the modernization of the national payment system.
