Chicago Bears Waive 2025 Fifth-Round Pick Zah Frazier without Appearing in a Game
The 2025 fifth-round pick missed his entire rookie season after a personal issue and was limited to classroom and weight room work, Ryan Poles said.
On Thursday, the Bears waived cornerback Zah Frazier, a 2025 fifth-round pick who missed his entire rookie season due to "personal" reasons.
Bears general manager Ryan Poles revealed in August 2025 that Frazier was placed on the non-football injury list after discovering a "personal" situation predating his arrival in Chicago.
Poles noted in January 2026 that Frazier had a "mountain to climb" to contribute after missing his entire first season, adding that he needed to play to rebuild his position.
Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad, drafted in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, now faces less competition for a rotational spot following Frazier's departure from the cornerback room.
Rookie minicamp begins Friday at Halas Hall, where the Bears will evaluate their secondary options; Frazier would have been eligible to participate had he remained on the roster.
