Fight inside Capo's Bar leads to stabbing
Police say a fight inside Capo's Bar led to a stabbing, and investigators are seeking witnesses after the victim was hospitalized in critical condition.
A person is in critical condition after a stabbing occurred shortly before midnight Friday on Pittsburgh's South Side, where officers on the South Side Entertainment Patrol discovered the victim at S 14th Street and E Carson Street.
The stabbing follows a nuisance lawsuit filed by the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office, which cited more than 40 reported incidents; two months ago, Capo's reached an agreement to operate under court-ordered conditions.
Police evacuated the premises after a fight broke out inside Capo's, and investigators from the Mobile Crime Unit processed the scene, finding "evidence of the incident" inside the bar.
Pittsburgh EMS transported the victim to a hospital, but authorities have not released the victim's identity or announced any arrests as they work to identify suspects and witnesses.
Capo's had advertised a Halloween costume party for Friday night, and the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office previously stated it could ask a judge to shut the business down if court-ordered conditions are violated.
