The community of Extremadura has become the great “drums” of fresh water in Spain. According to the most recent data, its reservoirs can store up to 14,444 cubic hectometers and today store 10,821, slightly less than 75 percent of its capacity, in particular 74.91 percent. All this happens while the national water reserve marks a recent peak, with 77.3 percent filling after an extremely rainy February.
