THAILAND, AUG 9 – A landmine blast near the Thai–Cambodian border injured three soldiers, including one who lost a foot, highlighting risks from unexploded ordnance in the area.
- On Aug 9, the Thai Army reported that during a patrol between Sisaket and Preah Vihear provinces, one soldier lost a foot and two others were injured in a landmine blast in Don Ao-Krissana.
- On Aug 7, Cambodia and Thailand agreed a ceasefire at a General Border Committee meeting in Malaysia after five days of clashes over the Preah Vihar temple from July 24-28 that killed 30 people and displaced more than 300,000.
