Texas-based Buc-ee's to debut first Ohio store in April, 200-plus jobs
- Huber Heights Mayor Jeff Gore announced on Facebook that Ohio's first Buc-ee's will open April 6 at 6 a.m.
- Crews broke ground in August 2024 as the project began, but developers aimed for an end of 2025 opening faced delays from weather and a city of Huber Heights and Clark County water and sewer connection dispute.
- On April 3, emergency personnel local to the Dayton area will tour the site in a first-responder preview before the public grand opening.
- Construction paused in November amid legal disputes, and company attorneys say the end-of-year opening is no longer achievable; Buc-ee's General Counsel Jeff Nadalo says the site is on schedule for spring of 2026, and Gore said `And their doors will never close after that`.
- The site sits at the intersection of State Route 235 and Interstate 70, where Buc-ee's, known for large stores, clean bathrooms and a beaver mascot, will open.
