Testimony begins in trial of man accused of assaulting officer before he was shot

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Testimony began Tuesday morning in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court in the trial of a man accused of assaulting a Boardman police officer just before the officer shot him. Damian Cessna, 28, of Austintown, is on trial for the second time for a charge of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, before Judge Maureen Sweeney. A jury was seated Monday to hear the case.
