Vernon Kay's Dad Explains Sad Reason Behind Tess Daly Split
Vernon Kay’s father said the couple had no fallout and were gradually growing apart after nearly 23 years together.
On May 8, television presenters Vernon Kay and Tess Daly announced their separation after nearly 23 years together, stating they decided to part ways amicably while remaining committed to co-parenting their two daughters.
Vernon Kay's father, Norman, broke his silence to clarify that the split involved no wrongdoing, explaining that the pair had simply "gone in different directions" with their lives and remain on good terms.
While the couple officially described the separation as "amicable," sources within their friendship circles have challenged this, claiming Daly is "seething" and unhappy with Kay, citing his past "laddish ways" as a hindrance.
Norman urged his son not to rush into a new relationship, stressing that Vernon has "plenty of time" ahead, and emphasized that the priority remains the well-being of the couple and their two grandchildren.
The pair's relationship began in 2001 while working on Top of the Pops@Play, ending a long-standing partnership that spanned more than two decades and produced two daughters born during their 2003 marriage.
