Tesco Apologises to Customers After Payment Problems - Liverpool Echo
Tesco resolved a technical fault that caused payment failures for a small number of online and in-store grocery transactions, with over 200 reports logged on DownDetector.
On Wednesday, Tesco customers reported problems making payments for grocery deliveries, first reported on Wednesday morning.
Tesco's systems showed the issue affected a very small proportion of payments online and in some stores, with customers also struggling to access the Tesco app.
More than 200 people reported issues to the DownDetector monitoring website, and social media showed shoppers posting about failed delivery payments, with one X user describing repeated web and app failures.
Tesco said it has now resolved the problem and apologised for the inconvenience, adding the issue 'briefly' impacted a small number of its customers on Wednesday.
The overwhelming majority of payments were processed normally, and the incident came days after thousands of customers faced a Vodafone outage.
