Tesco, Lidl, Farmfoods & more UK supermarkets issue recalls & 'do not eat' warnings

Retailers including Tesco and Lidl recall products due to salmonella, toxins, undeclared allergens, and foreign objects, with point-of-sale notices nationwide, the Food Standards Agency said.

  • This past week, Tesco, Lidl GB and TK Maxx and Homesense issued nationwide recalls, displaying point-of-sale notices and advising shoppers to return affected items for refunds.
  • Manufacturers reported undeclared allergens and possible foreign objects, including salmonella in Tesco Grape & Berry Medley and cereulide toxin in Aptamil First Infant Formula, prompting recalls.
  • Aptamil First Infant Formula with best before April 4 and batch code 207 345, sold May–July 2025, is recalled following a cereulide toxin detection, according to the FSA.
  • The FSA has issued formal product recall notices, and retailers published customer-contact details, including 01923473561 for TJX Europe and 0121 700 7160 for Farmfoods, to assist affected customers.
  • Health authorities warn that the cereulide toxin causes nausea and cramps, salmonella leads to fever and diarrhoea, and parents of infants and allergy sufferers should contact NHS 111 if concerned.
