The national roadside surveillance campaign registered almost 2,900 accidents between 18 and 24 August, with the authorities reinforcing the alert to the risks associated with driving alcohol consumption.
Among the most frequent infractions are driving under the influence of alcohol, irregularities in vehicle documentation and conditions, speeding, and improper use of cell phones while driving.
Ten people died and more than 1,000 were injured, 60 of whom seriously, between August 18 and Monday, indicated today the security forces in a joint balance sheet on the "Flying Zero Rate" campaign.
