Singapore's Temasek to Open Riyadh, Abu Dhabi Offices in Middle East Expansion
Temasek said the new hubs will support partnerships and co-investments across the region, as the $400 billion investor deepens ties in Qatar and beyond.
On Wednesday, Singapore state investor Temasek announced plans to open offices in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi in the first half of 2027, marking its first physical presence in the Middle East, subject to statutory approvals.
Chairman Teo Chee Hean previously stated the firm was "actively looking" at a Middle East presence, citing the region's rapid economic transformation and attractive long-term fundamentals as strategic drivers.
CEO of Temasek Global Investments Chia Song Hwee and Managing Director Ankit Khemka will lead the regional expansion, growing the firm's global network to 15 offices across 11 countries by 2027.
Serving as "strategic hubs" for the firm and its portfolio companies, the offices will enable Temasek to "actively engage with institutions" in Qatar and pursue partnership opportunities across Central Asia and Africa.
While some Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 projects face delays from regional economic fallout, Temasek maintains a long-term view, betting the $400 billion investor can capture growth driven by national development and diversification plans.
