The Telangana government has taken steps to protect 3.42 crore Public Distribution System (PDS) consumers from drought, crop losses and rising prices due to the effects of El Nino.
Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy revealed that a 14-month plan is being prepared to ensure food security for the 3.42 crore people who depend on the Public Distribution System.
