Teenagers are raped as they slept by 'dangerous and high risk' predator
Stefan Dobandi received a 10-year sentence plus two years on licence for raping two teens asleep in separate Flintshire homes, with the judge noting his high risk of reoffending.
- On Tuesday, Stefan Dobandi, 20, was sentenced to 10 years in custody at Mold Crown Court in North Wales for raping two sleeping teenage girls, with an additional two years on license.
- Dobandi admitted breaking into one victim's home at night in May last year while she slept before raping her, and pleaded guilty to two rape counts against that victim, two counts of making indecent images, and raping a second teenager in June last year.
- Judge Rhys Rowlands branded the crimes "totally depraved behaviour," assessing Dobandi as "high risk" of reoffending with "arrogance" and little "understanding or remorse." The first victim felt "anxious and shocked," while the second "slept and cried" when the investigation started.
- The court imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and sex offender registration, alongside a 10-year restraining order preventing Dobandi from contacting the two victims; he must serve two-thirds of his sentence before release consideration.
- Investigating officer Detective Constable Guto Hughes called Dobandi a "predator who is a danger to women," commending the victims' courage, as North Wales Police stated "tackling violence against women and girls remains a foremost priority.
