Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin Is in Development at PlatinumGames — Aims to 'Meet the Bar' Set by Nier: Automata
The AAA action-adventure game will be developed by PlatinumGames and published by Paramount Games Studio, with no release date announced.
- On Friday at Summer Game Fest, Paramount Games Studio and developer PlatinumGames revealed the AAA action-adventure game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, which follows the last surviving Ninja Turtle on a mission for vengeance.
- Development previously halted at Black Forest and publisher THQ Nordic before Skydance merged with Paramount last year. Paramount Games Studio opted to revive the project, selecting Platinum to lead development.
- To support the game, a one-shot prequel comic titled The Last Ronin: Training Day will be released July 9, featuring art by the Escorza Brothers and Ben Bishop and focusing on Michelangelo training Casey Marie Jones.
- This project marks a strategic shift for Paramount, which is now treating games as a central content pillar alongside film and TV. The studio is also publishing the recently delayed Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game.
- The game will be available on console and PC, though no release date has been set. The teaser premiered at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles during the Summer Game Fest event.
