Ted Lasso Season 5 Gets Official Announcement From Apple TV Exec Before Confirmation
Apple TV has not renewed the comedy yet, and creators say the Lady Greyhounds story could continue for three more seasons.
- On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Ted Lasso aired its season finale on Apple TV. While Apple has not confirmed a future season, creator Jason Sudeikis has outlined a three-season arc for the Lady Greyhounds saga.
- The finale honored pub landlady Mae Green, who died in the previous episode. Friends gathered at the Crown & Anchor pub for a wake, featuring a moving performance of 'The Parting Glass' in her memory.
- Rebecca faced a takeover as Zelda attempted to become the majority shareholder of AFC Richmond. Ultimately, Elaine Pinter of Pinter & Sons reinstated Rebecca as the majority stakeholder after Mae bequeathed her shares.
- Ampere Analysis reported the new season pulled in 3.3 million views in the U.S. last month, making it Apple TV's most-watched content. This sustained viewership bolsters the case for continuing the series.
- Sudeikis and the show's creators have sketched out another two seasons beyond the current finale. With fans still watching in droves, the writers could return to the room in late August to map out the not-yet-ordered season five.
