Technology saves Brits 13 days a year by speeding up daily chores
A poll of 2,000 adults found Brits save about six hours a week, as the campaign urges smart meter updates for accurate bills.
Sara Cox, radio and TV broadcaster and author, partnered with Smart Energy GB for a new campaign, following a survey of 2,000 adults that found technology saves the average Brit six hours weekly.
Seventy-Six per cent of Brits agree technology simplifies their daily lives, with the kitchen identified as the primary location where appliances save the most time.
Smartphones were crowned the top time-saving technology by 42 per cent, followed by washing machines at 32 per cent and online banking at 28 per cent.
By contrast, 38 per cent of Baby Boomers expressed amazement at modern digital access, while 92 per cent of older Brits recall waiting for camera film to be developed—a task now obsolete.
Smart Energy GB is encouraging households to book appointments for smart meter upgrades to help residents track energy use and access flexible tariffs.
