On the third day of their hunger strike, police intervened against members of the Private Sector Teachers' Union who wanted to make a press statement in front of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. 14 people, including union leaders, were detained.
CHP leader Özel said, "I want to call on Mr. Bahçeli. He had assigned a member of parliament, who said he would submit a bill to ensure their rights are granted. He did, and he is waiting. Teachers are not a minority in parliament, they are the majority. The New Path Group supports it, the DEM Group supports it."
CHP leader Özgür Özel visited the teachers who started a hunger strike due to their unfair interview process to show his support.
