Delco-Set 'Task' Renewed For Season 2 At HBO

On Nov. 20, HBO and HBO Max announced they renewed Task for Season 2 with Mark Ruffalo returning as FBI agent Tom Brandis.
Holding a 96% Rotten Tomatoes rating, season one drew 4 million first-night viewers and 11.2 million premiere viewers, making it one of HBO's fastest-growing debut seasons, a press release said.
Ruffalo's Brandis, FBI agent Tom Brandis, leads a task force investigating drug-house robberies by Robbie, played by Tom Pelphrey, a down-on-his-luck garbage collector providing for his family.
Production will return to the Delaware County/Philadelphia region, and several major characters do not survive season one, so expect a largely new cast; sources say Ruffalo recently negotiated a new deal to reprise his role.
Creator Brad Ingelsby, under an HBO overall deal, prioritizes filming Task across Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia to maintain the show's regional roots.
