Tame Impala announce new album 'Deadbeat'
Kevin Parker's upcoming album 'Deadbeat' reflects his personal struggles through club-infused psychedelia inspired by Western Australia's rave scene and bush doof culture.
- Today, Tame Impala announced Deadbeat, their fifth full-length album led by Kevin Parker, due October 17 via Columbia Records.
- Inspired by Western Australia’s rave scene, Deadbeat draws on bush doof culture and was largely recorded by Kevin Parker between Fremantle, Western Australia, and Wave House studio, Injidup.
- The 12-track Deadbeat includes singles “End of Summer” and “Loser,” with Parker writing, recording, producing, mixing, and mastering it entirely at his Injidup studio; the cover shows Parker with his daughter Peach.
- Tame Impala announced a Deadbeat U.S. tour opening October 31 at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY, running through November 14 with pre-sale sign-ups open now and general on-sale September 12.
- Marking the end of a five-year gap, Deadbeat shifts Tame Impala toward club-psych and a future primitive rave style, following Parker's Grammy Award and notable collaborations.
