Syria's interim president has a past as an Islamist terrorist. Ahmed al-Sharaa is also said to have been involved in human rights violations and war crimes as head of government. Nevertheless, he is doing the diplomatic round - and is meeting the Federal Chancellor today.
The German Chancellor welcomes in Berlin this Monday the leader Al-Charaa to evoke a very hypothetical dismissal of the exiles. A project supported by the conservatives but which makes the sectors in tension, including health, fear a shortage of skilled labour.
