The Syrian authorities have reported the arrest of five former air force officers. They are suspected of involvement in airstrikes on civilians when President Bashar al-Assad was still in power.
The Internal Security Forces in Tartus governorate, in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Department, arrested five senior air force officers and commanders of the former regime who participated in planning, managing and carrying out aerial bombardments resulting in extensive casualties and the destruction of residential neighbourhoods.
