Synopsys Launches Electronics Digital Twin Platform to Accelerate Physical Ai System Development
The open Electronics Digital Twin Platform enables OEMs to complete up to 90% of automotive software validation before hardware availability, reducing development time and cost.
- On March 10, 2026, Synopsys, Inc. launched the Synopsys Electronics Digital Twin Platform in Sunnyvale, Calif., calling it a first-of-its-kind open solution for software-defined product development.
- Designed to shift validation earlier, the platform enables OEMs to achieve up to 90% of software validation prior to hardware availability through pre-integrated ecosystem tools and blueprints.
- The platform integrates an Arm Zena CSS virtual platform in Synopsys Virtualizer and system composition via Vector's SIL Kit , while eDT Labs provide cloud deployment with flexible compute.
- Volvo Cars is adopting electronics digital twins for earlier validation, Johannes Foufas said, while Synopsys will demo the platform at Embedded World 2026 and Sassine Ghazi will keynote Synopsys Converge on March 11.
- Amid mounting software complexity, Ravi Subramanian said automotive engineering teams face more than 600 million lines of software, while Ozgur Tohumcu noted validation once needed physical prototypes and took years.
