Toronto man arrested and charged in alleged sexual assault of 62-year-old woman in High Park
HIGH PARK, TORONTO, JUL 3 – Cortny Henry faces seven charges including sexual assault causing bodily harm and robbery as police investigate potential additional victims, officials said.
On July 2, Toronto police arrested 35-year-old Cortny Henry outside the city in connection with the June 4 sexual assault in High Park, and he is scheduled for bail today.
On June 4 at 10:40 p.m., a woman walking alone in High Park was approached from behind, dragged into a wooded area, and sexually assaulted; suspect has a criminal record and was on probation.
Charges against Cortny Henry have not been tested in court, and police say High Park remains safe given the rarity of such crimes.
Following the arrest, Toronto police issued a safety alert and increased patrols in High Park to reassure the community.
Toronto police believe there may be more victims and have released the suspect's photo, urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers ahead of his bail court appearance today.
