Surprisingly: Spain star leaves the camp and flies to France
The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder will miss Spain’s Nations League match after leaving camp for the birth of his first child, the RFEF said.
On Saturday, midfielder Fabian Ruiz left the Spain squad in Oviedo and traveled to Paris for the birth of his first child, the Spanish Football Federation announced.
The Paris Saint-Germain player will miss Spain's UEFA Nations League match against the Czech Republic scheduled for this Saturday evening in Oviedo.
Spain cannot call up a replacement, as UEFA regulations closed the squad list at 23:59 yesterday; Pau Cubars and Carlos Esp are already unavailable to fill the vacancy.
Ruiz previously started both matches as Spain opened its UEFA Nations League campaign with victories over England and Croatia, establishing his importance to the squad.
The RFEF has not indicated if Ruiz might return for the final match against Croatia, scheduled for Tuesday in Split.
The midfielder of the PSG Fabián Ruiz has abandoned this Saturday the concentration of the Spanish team in Oviedo to attend the birth of his first son in Paris, so he will not be present at the meeting that he will face this Saturday at 8.45 p.m. in Spain against the Czech Republic of the League of Nations.
