The Bar Council has called on criminal defense lawyers to come forward if they are willing to defend Ridouan Taghi. Taghi has been without a lawyer since April.
Ridouan Taghi has still not found a new lawyer after the arrest of his former attorney, Vito Shukrula. Therefore, the Bar Association (the oversight body for the legal profession) is urging lawyers to come forward if they are willing to represent Taghi.
The Bar Council has sent an email inviting criminal defense lawyers to come forward if they are willing to defend Ridouan Taghi. A spokesperson for the legal profession regulator confirmed this after a report by the AD newspaper. The main suspect in the Marengo trial remains without a lawyer following the arrest of his attorney, Vito Shukrula, in April.
